Candidate name: June Black

June Murphy Black is a life long resident of Habersham County.  She graduated from Habersham Central High School and went on to College where is obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and an Associates Degree in Applied Science. 

From 1982 until 1986, she was employed by a local real estate company through the work program at Habersham Central.  While in college she worked with a local CPA firm where she learned the importance of checks and balances.  After college she worked with a local attorney where she gained knowledge about real estate closing, civil procedures and domestic relations.  For 15 years she also owned and operated an independent auto title service wherein she processed titles through the Georgia Department of Revenue once a week in Atlanta.

Her biggest accomplishments are her two children, Kinley and Madison.  Kinley is attending Southern Technical College and Madison spends most of her time at the ball field playing softball.

June was elected as Tax Commissioner for Habersham County in 2004 and is unopposed in the November, 2008 election.  She is a contributor to the betterment of Habersham County as she is involved in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and her church.
